PACES FOR POLIO
Welcome to

The Interact website for Paces for Polio. This website is the central hub for District 5150's spring conference.
Who are we?
Interact is the high school branch of the Rotary club, which is sanctioned into Districts all across the globe. We are District 5150 and we are the overseeing council of the Bay Area Interact clubs.
What is Paces For Polio?
Paces is a Rotary sponsored, Interact run event similar to Relay for Life. High school students congregate for twenty four hours of walking as a symbol for the eradication of Polio from the face of the earth. During the 24 hours, money is raised, laps are counted, friendships are made, fun is had and Polio is one step closer to being a distant memory.
Where is it?
Paces for Polio is annually held at various High schools around the Bay Area. In 2010, the event will be held at Mills High School in Milbrae, CA.
When?
Paces for Polio is always held on the third weekend of May. This year it will be on May 15th.
Why?
Polio, although not a threat to our local community, is ever present on planet Earth, and is a menace to less developed, third world countries. By holding this fundraising event, Interact and Rotary are taking a stand to defeat this silent killer.
